WELCOME TO NORTH EAST TOWNSHIP : Municipal Building Hours M-F 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.

Welcome

to

North East Township

Our Township was established in 1802 and as of the 2010 Census our Population is approximately 6,315
We are located in the heart of the largest concord grape growing industry in the world. This has had a positive impact on our
local economy.  We are proud of our strong agricultural community, which we have demonstrated through our zoning
and planning ordinances. We encourage and welcome our residents to attend and become part  of our public meetings and
serve on the Township's various committees.

BIG BOY UPDATE

North East Emergency Management would like to extend a sincere thank you to Carson Chesley and C & C Auctioneers for allowing visitors to utilize the former Agway Property (141 South Lake Street) as a viewing area for the arrival of Union Pacific Big Boy No. 4014 on Tuesday, June 9th.

This additional viewing area will help provide spectators with another location to safely enjoy this historic event as North East celebrates America's 250th Anniversary.

Below is the available parking information for the community event. Green is open parking. Yellow is limited parking. Red is NO PARKING.

North East Borough also adheres to odd/even parking so please observe that rule on local streets.

A FEW IMPORTANT REMINDERS

We have been advised that communities across the country have seen thousands of visitors turn out to see Big Boy. We expect a significant influx of traffic throughout the morning and ask everyone to please be patient, courteous, and respectful of one another.

Traffic will be heavier than normal.

If you live nearby and are physically able, please consider walking.

Respect private property and do not block driveways, businesses, or roadways.

Parking regulations will be strictly enforced to ensure emergency vehicles can move freely if needed.

Lock your vehicles and secure personal belongings.

RAILROAD SAFETY IS EVERYONE'S RESPONSIBILITY

Stay off railroad tracks and railroad property.

Never walk between the rails or along the tracks.

Do not climb on railroad equipment, bridges, signal towers, or other railroad structures.

Take photos from safe and legal locations only.

Use designated public crossings.

Stay well back from the tracks.

Watch for trains on all tracks.

Keep children under close supervision.

Remain alert and avoid distractions such as phones and headphones near railroad crossings.

Most importantly, enjoy this once-in-a-generation opportunity to witness one of the most iconic steam locomotives ever built.

Let's work together to make the visit of Big Boy No. 4014 a safe, memorable, and patriotic celebration for our community and visitors alike.
